North American Levinas Society
Annual Conference

***Call For Papers***
(Submission Deadline: extended until January 10, 2011)
Jules Simon, through the North American coordinator for the International Rosenzweig Society (IRS) (http://www.rosenzweig-gesellschaft.org/), is able to offer grant assistance for some graduate students travelling to the next NALS conference at Texas A&M who would be presenting papers comparing the works of Levinas and Rosenzweig. This would be an important collaborative relationship between two important international philosophical societies.
These are the terms:
- The proposal/paper would have to offer a substantive treatment of some aspect of both Rosenzweig's and Levinas's philosophies.
- Simon would blind-review said proposals before granting travel assistance.
- The review and agreement to provide support would occur before the conference took place.
- The amount of the travel grant would be up to $250 per graduate student (graduate students only).
- The assistance would be contingent upon actual expenses incurred and submitted to the coordinator (Jules Simon) at the conference.
- The grant would be for travel expenses only and not room or food.

LODGING
The 2011 NALS Conference will be held at the Hilton College Station and Conference Center, College Station, TX.
Rooms are available at the Hilton at a special conference rate of $109.00 for either a single or double. The nights available are Thursday April 28, 2011 through Thursday May 5, 2011. Reservations may be made at (979) 693-7500 or at www.hiltoncs.com using reservation code: NALS1
The cutoff date for the conference rate is April 8, 2011.
Check in time is 4:00 p.m. and check out time is 12:00 p.m. Complimentary on-site parking is available for overnight guests. Complimentary shuttle service to and from Easterwood Airport is available from 7 a.m. – 11 p.m.
