Ben McMyler works in epistemology and philosophy of mind, broadly construed. He is particularly interested in a range of issues concerning the nature and significance of various forms of social influence on thought and action, issues lying at the intersection of epistemology, philosophy of mind, moral psychology, philosophy of language, and social and political philosophy. He recently completed a book on the epistemology of testimony entitled Testimony, Trust, and Authority, forthcoming from Oxford University Press. Other recent publications include "The Epistemic Significance of Address," forthcoming in Synthese, "Doxastic Coercion," forthcoming in Philosophical Quarterly, and "Believing What the Man Says About His Own Feelings," forthcoming in New Essays on the Philosophy of J. L. Austin, Oxford University Press.
