Trashy white pizza dough
I have no idea where this particular recipe originated. I just seem to have always had it
around on a 3x5" card.
Total preparation time: about XXX minutes
Cooking time: about XXX minutes
Yield: two 12" pizza pie doughs
Vegetarian: vegan
Here's what you need at the ready when you start:
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- a teaspoon of white sugar
- 2.5 cups of trashy white flour
- 1 packet regular dry yeast
- a teaspoon of salt
The only other things you need are:
- a largish mixing bowl
- a pizza stone
- a rolling pin
And here's what to do:
- put the pizza stone in the oven and preheat to 390 degrees
- put one cup of warm water in the mixing bowl, along with the yeast and sugar
- wait XXX minutes
- add the oil
- add the flour and salt
- kneed briefly
- rest the dough 5 or 10 minutes
- cut the dough in half
- roll out one half to the size of the pizza stone
- poke the dough with a fork at various places
- Optional: gently press in some grated mozarella cheese
- bake about XXX minutes
- add toppings
- bake until the cheese on the toppings is browning (broil if need be)
