Attention Undergraduate Philosophy Students! Proud of a philosophy paper you wrote for class? Want to showcase your writing skills and creative thoughts? Aspire to life in academia, law, or journalism? If so, consider submitting to Aletheia, Texas A&M’s journal for undergraduate work in philosophy!
The Department of Philosophy at Texas A&M University and the Student Editorial Board of Aletheia are pleased to announce that the journal will be releasing a publication of undergraduates’ best work in philosophy. The publication will be released at the end of the Spring 2018 semester. This journal is an excellent opportunity for undergraduates to gain experience writing for publication and contribute their ideas to the creative and lively philosophic discussion among their peers at Texas A&M University. Such experience is beneficial not only for those aspiring to careers such as academia, law, or journalism, but also for those who wish to exercise their critical thinking abilities and engage in thought-provoking discourse.
Papers must relate to a philosophical question and be written for an undergraduate course to be considered for publication. Papers should be 2000-5000 words in length, although papers slightly above or below these limits will be considered. Authors should provide a 100 word abstract and include a works cited page.
The deadline for submission is Friday, February 15, 2019, and students will be notified of acceptance by March 1, 2019. Papers on all philosophical topics will be considered, so do not hesitate to submit! Accepted applicants will work with the Student Editorial Board throughout the publication process as they polish and refine their papers. The journal will publish on the Department of Philosophy website and in a print copy that will circulate throughout campus. We look forward to seeing your best work!
